Today the weather has been strange. During reading we have been hearing some weird noises. It sounded like thunder and lightning. The weather has been changing from rainy, sunny and dark clouds. To reduce the clatter and disruptive noises our teacher said, "Close the windows and keep reading."
It was quite windy as well but luckily I had my jumper on. I hope when tomorrow comes there will be a change in the weather and it will hopefully be better. If it is sunny we can play outside which is my preference.
We are Years 7 and 8 learners at Ruapotaka School in Auckland, New Zealand and our teacher is Mr Reid

Goals For Term 4! π by Lupe
Today we are writing up our goals. We had to do a goal for every subject except inquiry.
My personal aim is to concentrate on my education because next year I will be going to college.
My reading goal is read more often at home, my writing goal is to use more academic words in my writing and my maths goal is to show evidence when solving problems.
I'm going to try and achieve my goals and be BETTER THAN BEFORE!!

Making A Movieπ by Lupe
For the past few weeks some of the classes have been trying to create a movie. My class's movie is about How To Be A Good Rugby Player. Nearly two times a week we go out to film. While we are doing that the rest of the children have to be absolutely quietly so that we can focus and get the filming done. I think that the idea is excellent because it's about the New Zealand history.

Skipping Is Coming Up!π by Lupe
πVery soon my school ( Ruapotaka School) is going to have an event called Skipping. Every year all the classes do a display then we have a skip off. If you want to win, your stamina and your skipping have to be good. When we do the skip off we stand in separate spaces so no one gets muddled up. Then you skip for as long as you can. Later one of the teacher will say "double under" and that's when it gets hard. You have to turn the rope twice as fast. And the last three who skip the longest get a special certificate for coming first, second or third. So we are practicing.

National Milk Day! π₯ by Lupe
Today is an incredible day because it is National Milk Day. We get milk from Fonterra. They provide milk for us and makes us fit and healthy. Every school now has milk delivered to them. We have milk and drink it at morning tea. Milk comes from the cows udder's then farmers have to milk them. After we drink our milk we have to fold the carton in a certain way. So drink milk and stay strong. π₯

Tech With No Chromebooks ☹ by Lupe
This Wednesday the year 7 and 8 students went to Tech without their chromebook because our teachers said not to. All the year eights are doing cooking and all the year sevens are doing woodwork.
The year eights made some delicious spicy hot chicken nibbles, unfortunately it was too hot. But it was still tasty.

Congratulations Lupe! You're a Winner
Lupe came first in the Year 7 Girls' School Cross Country Race. Here's her story:
The School Cross Country Wednesday 14th of September was when we had our school cross country race. It would have been a week earlier but we weren't allowed at our school because of the Asbestos testing. I think everyone tried their best. It's unfortunate that we cannot go to the inter-school cross country race because of the situation caused by the asbestos testing.

Lupe Hosting the Syndicate Assembly for the First Time
Syndicate Assembly
It was Room 12's turn to host the Syndicate Assembly. Anyone who didn't have a turn hosting in the last assembly had a turn in this one. I think Room 12 did very well for planning an amazing assembly. This was my very first time being the assembly host. Hosting the assembly was a little hard because we had to memorise our lines.

Gardening by Lupe
On Monday all the boys were called up to fill the garden with bark. It looked tiring but they finished it on Tuesday and got a reward. They were a little dirty but they managed to clean the nasty dirt off.
Well Done Boys!!!

Fruit Kebab Movie by Anavea
Two weeks ago we were put into two teams to make a movie about Healthy Foods.
We had to make a movie that was about two minutes long. Before we could make it we had to plan out what we were going to be doing. It took us about three days to plan it. When that was done we had to practice our lines. All of us had about three days to practice our lines, before we could start making our movie.
Heilala and I brought in some fruits to use for our kebabs.Once the movie was made we were able to add music to the storyboard. We had about five days to do this. Once that was done we had to publish it. Well done!
