Every Friday everyone from years 5 - 8 go to their culture groups to practice their traditional dances. There are four groups and they are Tonga, Samoa, Maori and Cook Island. I'm in the Tongan group.
We are doing two dances. One is called the Sipi Tau. The Sipi Tau is the rugby league haka for The Mate Maa Tonga Rugby League Team.
The other dance is Kailao. The Kailao is a warrior stick dance that tells what happened in World War II. My favorite dance is the Kailao because it shows how strong and fierce we are.
We are Years 7 and 8 learners at Ruapotaka School in Auckland, New Zealand and our teacher is Mr Reid

π¨!!!Exams Are Back ALREADY!!!π©-By Julianne.
πNow that it is the last term of 2018 and us yr 8's are going to college next year. We have a lot of exams going on this term. I feel nervous, scared, anxious, terrified and frightened at the same time. When my first test got handed out onto my desk I was shaking!! then I thought to myself "I can do it!". When our results were up I was actually very proud of myself!!.π
Coach Pete Is Here!!!-By Saluselo
On Tuesday, we had Tennis with Coach Pete. It was pretty nerve-racking because I have no experience with a Tennis racket. Luckily, Coach Pete taught me all through the steps.
I was partnered with Katrina and after a little while, Sosiua joined our group. We started off by hitting the tennis ball at or near the cone.
Then we started a rally and we always swapped after a while if we had three or more people in our team.
I hope that we get more practice in the weeks to come. It was fun!!

Printing At Tech by Julianne
On Wednesday we went by bus to Tamaki College for Technology. When we first arrived we had to finish off our name art, then we got to do our printing on t-shirts and jumpers. I had so much fun printing my name with Izabella. After we printed our names we then put matching gold turtles on our them. We left our final product to dry out. It was time to thank Mr Pineda then return back to school!π₯

Cross Country- By Vika
When it was the year 8's turn to run we lined up, so we could get ready to run. I was glad that it was only 2 laps and when we were running I tried to keep running and jogging to keep my place. I also kept up ran with a steady pace to help me, not lose my energy quickly.
At last it was our final lap and we were nearly done. I came 3rd out of the year eights which made me pleased and I came 2nd for the girls which made me even happier. When it finished I was happy but exhausted at the same time.

We Are Honored To Be Your Students, Dancing Sensei by Henry
If you are reading this Jess, we of Room 12 would like to thank you for going out of your way to teach us hip hop moves for 6 weeks. They have been an amazing time.
In the past few weeks, we have developed confidence, style and last of all, had fun! This has been fantastic for us because we were able to create our own dancing routines and we will continue with this. We all hope we will meet you again in the future.
With great honor,
Henry.
