Week Seven's Assembly by Riiana

For every school assembly, one class will have to host it. This has been going on for four weeks. Yesterday's assembly was Room 6's turn.

Besides the usual, badges were given out to classroom monitors, acknowledgement for the road patrollers and library monitors, and principal awards were handed out.

When it was time for the prefects to give their messages, we were assigned the job of speaking about something that we are grateful for. I am grateful for growing up in a safe, friendly and loving environment.

Becoming A Prefect by Agueer

Aloha and welcome back to my blog. My name is Agueer for you who don't know me. I am currently attending Ruapotaka as a year 7 in Room 12. I am 11 years old turning twelve later on in the year. I am from South Sudan but was born in New Zealand.

I probably was chosen to become a Prefect because I am bossy and kind of loud. My expectations are to be a good role model for those younger then me and also to help some people in need. When being a Prefect you must say a reminder every single week at our syndicate or whole school assembly which sounds like a tough job because you do it for the whole year. When you are a Prefect one of the biggest things you must have is responsibility. Responsibility is very important because you help the teachers and mostly the Principal.

Special Assembly ツ by Ana

This Monday morning we had a special assembly. The year 4's were awarded special prizes for having a great attitude towards learning.

They have received a 40 dollar deposit towards they're chromebooks for next year 2019. The overall winner was Aleki. Mrs Samuel-Latu has given him a new uniform, 40 dollar deposit for his chromebook and a box of favourites.

Joy, Solomene, Pita and Aleki were acknowledged for their dedication and hard work towards learning.

Mrs Samuel-Latu and her sisters have been coming for the past 8 years to present these awards. Sadly this is the last time we will be having this type of assembly for our year 4's.

I hope the winners will continue their hard work and dedication in the future.

Katrina's Duffy Award: The Baby-Sitters Club #10 Logan Likes Mary Anne by Katrina

 I was chosen to receive a Duffy book because I had read in the holidays. 

 I had remembered an old saying and it was "Never judge a book by its cover." 

After thinking about that I read the blurb on the back of the book and it said, "It used to be that Mary Anne (character) had to wear her hair in braids and ask her dad before she did anything, but not anymore. Mary Anne has been growing up ... and the Baby-sitters Club members aren't the only ones who've noticed.

Logan Bruno (character) like Mary Anne! He has a dreamy southern accent, he's awfully cute --- and he wants  to join the Baby-sitters Club.

The Baby-sitters aren't sure Logan will make a good club club member and Mary Anne thinks she's  too shy for Logan. Life in the Baby-sitters Club has never been this 
complicated------ or this fun!"

 It sounded very interesting so I chose it.
