Last week we started another test! It was really complicated. I wasn't really ready but I knew our teacher had prepared us for our test. So I didn't have anything to worry about. We already sat our Vocabulary, Reading and Writing tests. I think I did well. Next to come is Maths. Something that I'm alright at. But fingers crossed that I pass.
We are Years 7 and 8 learners at Ruapotaka School in Auckland, New Zealand and our teacher is Mr Reid

Room 11's Hosting Assembly by Robati
It was Room 11's turn to host the Senior Syndicate Assembly. They chose a song called 'Happy' by Velody. Afterwards we had a singing competition. Room 11 had to choose two students from each classroom to sing a song. Rooms 9, 10 , and 11 got to sing but unfortunately the chosen Room 12 students weren't there to perform as they were called away. So Vaimoana stood in and sang a song by herself. First place came Room 12, second, Room 9, third 10 and lastly Room 11. Then we handed out the certificates to the students who were working hard and behaving well. At the end of Room 11 syndicate assembly Meafou took Room 9 out to the door followed by Rooms 10, 11 and 12.

Tabloids by Timote
On Wednesday afternoon the whole school came together for Tabloids activities. We were put into our team houses. The colours were blue (Kikorangi) , red (Whero), green (Kakariki) and yellow (Kowhai).
Once we started tabloids I was already having fun.
To score points during tabloids a teacher observed our performance, behaviour, attitude and physical skills. If we did well then we were given a score between 0-5.
At the end all the team leaders added their scores up. The total score that we got was 27.

Duffy Show For 2017 by Timote Junior
Today our entire school went to the multipurpose room for a special show. It was all about the earth. The show was really hilarious and interesting. It had to do with Duffy going with Millicent to different places and helping to sort out climate change. It was also about Duffy teaching Global Girl how to read books, maps and more.

First Senior Syndicate Assembly For 2017!!! π by Jack Daniel
On Tuesday 7th February 2017, was the first ever Senior Syndicate Assembly of 2017.
Room 12 (My Class) hosted the assembly and it was amazing and entertaining. Firstly, Lupe introduced everyone to our assembly and welcomed Ms Riley because it was her first ever assembly with the senior block.
After a couple of lines from the students in Room 12, we sang our first song called 'Be Happy' by Velody. After that song, Lupe presented the certificates for people who did better than before. Vaimoana and Timote received the certificates in our class.
After the certificates were handed out to the students who were better than before, Azahar called on the dancers from each class to dance to their selected songs. Soon after this, Room 9 danced to 'Juju On That Beat.'
Next, Rooms 10 and 11 danced to the same song as Room 9. Lastly, Room 12 danced to 'Hit The Quan.' Finally, we sang another song called 'Lean On Me.'
It was a great assembly to start the year off.

Back At School! by Athens
We are finally back at school again and I'm a year 8 now! We started school on February the 1st which was on a Wednesday. It is also Waitangi Day on Monday and that means a three day weekend. Lucky us!
Mr Reid and Mrs Golder started teaching together. It is a new experience for me since I've never had two teachers. It's quite exciting actually.
On Wednesday Mrs Golder picked me to get a new Duffy book and the reason was because of my 'Who Am I?' story. Then on Friday I received a Principles Award for it. I am getting off on a great start!
